A Sheldon ISD First: All-State Choir Student

This past Saturday two C.E. King high school students auditioned in the last round of All-State auditions. We are proud to share that Sara Saeed made an All-State choir! She will be representing C.E. King High School in San Antonio at the Texas Music Educators Association Convention in February.

Each fall, over 70,000 Texas high school students begin the All-State audition process. 1,810 are ultimately selected to rehearse and perform during the annual TMEA Clinic/Convention in one of 18 Texas All-State ensembles, including four choirs: Mixed Choir, Treble Choir, Tenor-Bass Choir, and Small School Mixed Choir.

Sara is not only one of the few people selected from our Region, but she is also the first person in all of Sheldon ISD history to make it to the All-State choir!

Arielle Monuma-Antoine, a junior, was ranked as the 2nd alternate to the All-State choir. The voice part she auditioned on is fiercely competitive, and to make it as far as she did as a junior is incredible! These two musicians have set a new record, and therefore a new standard, for C.E. King Choir.
